A Different Kind of Education: Fashion

It’s a certainty of pages. It’s an assumption of ink. An education is thought to be shaped to endless words and percentages, the classroom confines. It’s a scenario you wished to escape as a child — and one you swore you’d never repeat.

Applying such a notion to fashion is quite different, however, and shouldn’t be denied. Your desire to shape your personal style requires information; and such information is gained only through (diligent) studying:

Find Inspiration

A first impression, a singular glance, and you find yourself longing for the designs on a page. A magazine yields endless textures and silhouettes — and you want them all. While such excess isn’t possible, recognizing the photos that most delight is essential for your fashion education. Collect images that appeal and discover similarities (whether through colors, shapes or even brands, like Apple Bottoms jeans). This will help narrow your intentions.

Seek Advice

A quest for the perfect look is not an easy thing. It’s instead too often defined by frustration — with fabrics proving to be unfortunate and patterns obscuring figures. Professional help is therefore needed. Trying to cultivate your style can require an impartial aid. Consider consultants then for advice on the appropriate hues, looks and materials. This will offer foundational support and strengthen your education.

Examine Styles

Knowledge isn’t earned through mere desire. It’s instead gained through constant observation. You must study all trends, designers and couture offerings. This is the only way to keep your wardrobe relevant to both you and the seasons.

Let these suggestions help you to create a look that is worthy of your time and your closet.
