Female models can switch between the thin and skinny look to the curvy look without any difficulty. After all, there is a big market that appreciates the curves in a woman. On the other hand, the traditional super skinny look is always popular. Unfortunately, male models do not have the option of having those curves. A pair of man breasts is the best way of losing a modeling assignment. Unfair? Maybe. Can anything be done about it? Definitely not.
The idea of a man in touch with his feminine side may involve use of makeup, choice of clothes and even the choice of accessories. The man with a paunch will never called a man in touch with his feminine side. Men with a sarong and a six pack will look hot. Men in sarong and a beer belly will be called a pervert.
This means that male models cannot afford to look fat, ever. It is not just a question not having excess fat. It is also a question of having muscles. A six pack is not an option for a model. Rather, it is a question of necessity. If you take a look at the top male models in the world, you will realize that they have flaunted the muscular look at some point in time or the other in their carrier.
Hence, male models will have to focus on not just the skin tone and their overall physique but also their fitness and appearance. If you want to make it big as a model, staying fit is unavoidable.
